Rehan was caught in Kota, Rajasthan, along with two others, and his father says the law should decide his punishment if the charges are proved.
Rehan arrested in Kota
Rehan lives in Eidgah Colony in Haryana’s Sonipat district. The three accused were allegedly travelling from Mumbai towards Delhi when the Anti-Gangster Task Force and Rajasthan Police stopped them in Kota. Father says he had no contact for years
In an interview shared by Live 24 TV’s X handle, Rehan’s father, Shudeen, said the family has lived separately for several years. He claimed he had neither seen nor spoken to his son for around 10 to 12 years. According to him, Rehan stayed with his mother, Samsida, who works as a labourer in a factory.Shudeen said he had no idea about his son’s alleged link to the case. He added that the law should decide the punishment if the allegations against Rehan are established.
Earlier case related to a firearm
Shudeen also mentioned a previous case against his son. He said Rehan had faced a firearm-related case around four to five months ago and that, as far as he knew, there was no other case against him. Rehan’s mother reportedly arranged his bail, and he did not move in with his father after his release.Rehan was reportedly arrested on August 19 in Gohana for allegedly possessing an illegal firearm.
Aunt speaks about his life
According to the same report, Rehan’s maternal aunt, Afsana, told local media that he began working as a welder after coming out of jail. Citing an Amar Ujala report, the source material says he studied only up to Class 9 before dropping out. Afsana said Rehan was at home during Eid and later left, saying he was going for work.
Other two accused
Besides Rehan, police have arrested a boy from Haryana and Hrithik Kumar, also known as Roshan. Hrithik reportedly worked as a Rapido rider in Mumbai. Investigators are now examining the role each of them played in the incident and what led up to the firing.
Probe continues
As the investigation goes on, Rehan’s father has kept his distance from the allegations. He maintained that the matter should be handled as per the law and that Rehan should face whatever punishment is warranted.
