Now, as per reports from the Associated Press, the rapper and singer has officially sued the California Prison System. The rapper filed a USD 100 million lawsuit, seeking damages from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the warden, and the guards stationed at the prison where he was admitted. The 33 year old rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, reportedly sustained approximately 16 stab wounds to the back, torso, head and face from Casio. As a result of the attack, he suffered a punctured lung and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment at the time. Amongst the allegations against the officers present at the facility, the report cited that their response was allegedly slow, and they were unable to assist Lanez properly. “The choice to house Casio with Peterson was known or should have been a known danger,” another statement read. The report also shared that no special measures were taken against the inmate, and that, to date, no charges have been pursued against Casio regarding the matter.
