Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock are back with their witchy wonder in ‘Practical Magic 2’! The film has officially completed filming and is scheduled for release later this year. During a recent interview, Xolo Maridueña, their co-star, opened up about how great it was to work on the film and his experience.

When filming ‘Practical Magic 2’, actor Xolo Maridueña couldn’t control his excitement about working with some of the film industry’s biggest icons. Recently, during his interview with PEOPLE, while attending the ‘Killing Castro’ world premiere in New York City, the actor stated what it was like to be on the sets of the magical film.He shared that he felt extremely welcomed when he joined the returning cast for the sequel. He added, “Girl, I was like … I already loved the movie, and the chemistry that the whole cast has, I wanted to bottle it up and hold it forever. Everyone was so kind. It was my first time filming abroad, we were in London.”Further on, he shared that it was a great experience to work alongside Kidman and Bullock, who have been in the industry for decades. He added, “Sandra and Nicole and the whole Practical Magic family totally welcomed me in, and I was so happy to be there. I can’t wait for people to see it. It’s going to be one that you’re going to want to go with the fam or ladies night. Or you’re going out for margaritas, whatever.”He also concluded by adding that people need to remember that the film will be released in September, and then further on called the two actresses “class acts.”
Who is Xolo Maridueña
Xolo Maridueña has been active in the entertainment industry since 2011. The 25-year-old made his debut with the series ‘Parenthood’ when he was only 11 years old. The actor has since been a rising force in the acting industry. He later found his big break when he starred in ‘Cobra Kai’ as the lead role of Miguel Díaz. He was 16 years old at the time.He is also known for leading DC’s ‘Blue Beetle’, which is the first Latino superhero in the film franchise. Later in 2023, he ventured into singing and dropped his first single, ‘On My Way.’ His latest film, ‘Killing Castro,’ debuted at the Tribeca Festival on June 9. Currently, there is no news about when the film will receive a theatrical release or OTT premiere.

The premise of the film is set around almost two decades after the release of the first film, and shows the return of the Owens family to the big screen. It is based on Alice Hoffman’s novel ‘The Book of Magic,’ with the narrative shifting to a new generation of Owens witches, specifically Sally’s daughters. As they uncover dark secrets and truths about their family and origins, things begin to change for them.The film also stars Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, Joey King, Maisie Williams, Lee Pace, and Solly McLeod.
When will ‘Practical Magic 2’ be released
The film has already completed filming, and is reportedly in the final stages of being finalized. According to announcements, the film is slated for theatrical release on September 11, 2026 later this year. The film is a highly anticipated sequel to the first film, ‘Practical Magic,’ which was released in October 1998.
