The 30-year-old actor revealed that he called Robert Downey Jr. after landing a part in Christopher Nolan’s film based on the revered epic. Robert Downey Jr. earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2024 for his work in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer.’ Certainly, Tom Holland had long conversations with the fellow Avenger after bagging the role of the son of Odysseus, Telemachus. “Yeah, I definitely had a very long conversation with Robert Downey. And then one of my best friends in life has worked with Chris for, I think, 20 years,” he said in an interview with PTI.
Tom Holland learned skills from the set
“He’s our stunt coordinator. And every time he and I would get together for dinner, he would tell me, ‘You have to do whatever it takes to find yourself on a Christopher Nolan set,’” the actor continued. Furthermore, Holland expressed that as an actor, he had the advantage of standing in the middle of the set – even if the cameras were not rolling.“And for me, I like to learn from people by watching them and watching the way they behave and treat people and work with people. So for me, I had the perfect footprints to try and follow in Annie (Anne Hathaway) and in Matt [Damon]. So I was kind of spoilt for choice when it comes to lessons,” he said during the conversation.As for Tom Holland, he is geared up for massive releases. ‘The Odyssey’ will hit theatres on July 17, 2026, while ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ will release on July 31, 2026.
