R Madhavan has often spoken about the challenges of staying relevant in the film industry, and an old interview of the actor has once again caught the attention of fans online. In the conversation, Madhavan revealed that if there is one actor whose career he hopes to emulate, it is Amitabh Bachchan. According to him, the legendary actor’s ability to evolve with time and remain a force in Indian cinema decades after his debut is something he deeply admires.Speaking to Film Companion, Madhavan explained that lasting success in the entertainment industry is far more valuable than temporary fame.“With no disrespect to anybody, but there is one gentleman that I can’t imagine being like and I want to be like, because he’s as relevant today as he was when he started off his career,” he said. He further added, “I think that’s the biggest blessing you can ask for in this industry, because the fall from grace is the biggest question you would have to handle.”

Madhavan praised Amitabh Bachchan for continuously reinventing himself while embracing roles that suit his age. He is one man who inspires me greatly,” he said.Expressing his admiration, Madhavan added, “I’m not prone to falling at people’s feet ever, except my parents. But I would with all my heart touch his feet because I’d really wish to be a fraction of what he can be.”

The actor has previously admitted that he fears becoming irrelevant and even stepped away from films for nearly four years to rediscover his passion for acting. While Amitabh Bachchan tops Madhavan’s list of professional inspirations, he credits his parents for shaping his values and outlook on life.“My dad and mom are great inspirations, simply because I’m an actor. I have all the trappings of a celebrity with me, and they have a sense of pride and dignity with which they live. My father would never want to skip a queue at the airport because he’s my parent. He will never think he can. I can’t buy him a car. My mother will not take jewellery. They’re very happy and content,” he said.Reflecting on the life lessons he has learned from them, Madhavan concluded, “If at that age I’m able to live with that level of contentment, I would consider myself extremely successful.”
R Madhavan’s work front
On the work front, R Madhavan continues to stay busy with a diverse slate of films. He was recently seen in the blockbuster spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar’, which emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year. The actor will next be seen in ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, where he shares screen space with Ajay Devgn, followed by the satirical thriller ‘Hisaab Barabar’, further expanding his varied filmography.
