Dulquer Salmaan starrer ‘I’m Game’ has begun its theatrical journey on a positive note. The Malayalam film recorded an India net collection of Rs 5.05 Cr on its opening day, according to Sacnilk. The movie registered the figure across 2,714 shows.The first-day performance has given the film a solid start across its release markets. Its India gross collection stood at Rs 5.90 Cr. The opening figure includes earnings from its Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi and Tamil versions.Directed by Nahas Hidhayath, the movie marks a major comeback for DQ in Mollywood after a 3 year gap.
‘I’m Game’ worldwide gross reaches Rs 10.90 Cr
The film also received a notable contribution from overseas markets. ‘I’m Game’ earned Rs 5.00 Cr in overseas gross collections on Day 1.With its India gross of Rs 5.90 Cr added to the overseas earnings, the movie’s worldwide gross has reached Rs 10.90 Cr. The international contribution accounts for a substantial portion of its opening-day total.
Malayalam version drives opening-day collections
The Malayalam version emerged as the biggest contributor to the film’s Day 1 India earnings. It collected Rs 4.30 Cr from 1,787 shows.The version also recorded an overall occupancy of 44.58%. Its night shows witnessed the strongest response, reaching 64.50% occupancy. Morning shows recorded 33.67%, while afternoon and evening shows registered 35.08% and 43.33%, respectively.The Telugu version collected Rs 65 lakhs from 776 shows. It recorded an overall occupancy of 35.03%. Night shows led with 35.90% occupancy, followed by afternoon shows at 27.90%. The Hindi release collected Rs 10 lakhs from 151 shows on its opening day. It recorded an overall occupancy of 15.29%.The Hindi version registered 15.63% occupancy during night shows. Evening screenings recorded 7.50%, while its morning occupancy stood at 15.29%. The afternoon figure was not available.The Tamil version recorded an overall occupancy of 12.75%. Its occupancy remained at 15.00% during afternoon, evening and night shows. Morning screenings recorded 6.00%. In Chennai, the Tamil version had six shows. The city recorded an overall occupancy of 12.8%, with morning shows at 6.0%. Afternoon, evening and night screenings each recorded 15.0%.
Kerala leads state-wise collection
Kerala remained the strongest market for ‘I’m Game’ on Day 1. The state generated Rs 4.25 Cr in gross collections. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 75 lakhs. Karnataka added Rs 45 lakhs to the film’s India gross.
