As if the ‘Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special’ wasn’t nostalgic enough for fans, Miley Cyrus has now released an emotional music video of her new song ‘Younger You,’ giving fans a walk down memory lane to the Hannah Montana era. The country-tinged track sees Cyrus, 33, having a conversation with her younger self and advising her to remain grounded amid the fame.
An ode to her younger self
The country-tinged song goes, “Somewhere along the way, we lost touch / We used to be so happy just because / I know you had to go eventually / But don’t forget about me, don’t forget about me, no.” Alongside the track, the three-time Grammy winner shared an emotional visual full of nostalgia from her younger days.
Miley Cyrus revisits memories of Hannah Montana
The video features images of Cyrus driving through Hollywood, interspersed with scenes from the Hannah Montana anniversary event.At the same time, the visual pans to moments from the 2009 ‘Hannah Montana Movie.’ As Cyrus sings the chorus, she can even be seen holding her signature pink makeup case from the movie.The song ends on a bittersweet note as the two versions of Cyrus walk away from the camera while she sings, “I know your story isn’t done, but do you love who you’ve become?”
