The release date of the live-action hybrid movie ‘Animal Friends,’ starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Momoa, has shifted again. The road trip adventure feature is now set to hit theaters January 22, 2027, after previously having been scheduled for May 1, 2026. Before that, the film had been slated for release on October 10, 2025.The film jumped from Sony to Warner Bros after Legendary’s deal at the Culver City lot ceased.

In addition to Ryan Reynolds and Jason Momoa, the Peter Atencio-directed film also stars Aubrey Plaza, Addison Rae, Dan Levy, Lil Rel Howery, and Ellie Bamber. Per Deadline, the reason for this latest date change is the film’s ensemble cast, but details around the same have been kept under wraps.

Besides Reynolds, the film stars the voices of Nicolas Cage and Emma Stone.
