Andaman & Nicobar Police recruitment 2026: The Andaman & Nicobar Police has extended the last date for submission of online applications for its Group B (Non-Gazetted) and Group C recruitment to June 25, 2026, while also revising vacancies for several advertised posts due to administrative reasons. The revised notification has been issued with reference to the recruitment notice released earlier in April.Candidates who have not yet completed the application process can now apply online until 11.59 pm on June 25, 2026. The correction window has also been extended and will remain open until 11.59 pm on June 27, 2026. The recruitment process covers posts across the Executive Branch, Police Radio Organisation, Police Motor Transport, Police Marine Force, Fire & Emergency Services and the India Reserve Battalion.
Vacancies revised for several postsAccording to the latest notice, vacancies notified for a few posts have been revised because of administrative reasons. Appointment letters will be issued strictly in order of merit against each post and subject to the availability of vacancies. The revised vacancies also include anticipated vacancies up to December 31, 2026, and appointments will be made in merit order as and when such vacancies arise.The notification further states that, apart from the revised vacancy position, all other terms and conditions mentioned in the original recruitment notice dated April 24, 2026 will remain unchanged. Candidates have been advised to follow the existing eligibility conditions and recruitment guidelines.Eligibility conditions remain unchangedThe Andaman & Nicobar Police has clarified that although the application deadline has been extended, the original closing date of May 17, 2026, will continue to be the reference date for determining age, possession of educational certificates, driving licences and all other eligibility requirements prescribed in the recruitment notice.The department has also stated that certain Group C vacancies proposed to be filled through compassionate appointment were included in the recruitment notice. Selection against such posts will be carried out under the relevant categories in accordance with the provision that vacancies are tentative and subject to change at the time of final selection.Further, horizontal reservation for Meritorious Sportspersons (MSP) will be implemented through a separate recruitment drive in accordance with the Government of India, Department of Personnel and Training guidelines.
