Delhi Education Directorate issues show cause notice to school over alleged molestation case and safety lapses
NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi, has issued a show-cause notice to S.S. Mota Singh Sr. Sec. Model School, Janakpuri, over a reported incident involving alleged molestation of a nursery class girl child within the school premises during school hours. The notice, issued by the Office of the Deputy Director of Education, District West B, seeks a detailed explanation from the school management regarding multiple administrative and safety lapses.According to the notice, the incident reflects serious shortcomings in the school’s supervisory systems and child protection framework. The authority has also recorded preliminary findings indicating gaps in surveillance infrastructure and possible violations linked to the operation of nursery and pre-primary classes from a separate premises located away from the main campus.Allegations Of Grave Lapses In Child Safety MechanismsThe show-cause notice highlights that the school failed to maintain adequate surveillance systems within its campus. This includes possible withdrawal of recognition under DSEAR provisions, takeover of school management under rule 24(4), and recommendation to the DDA for cancellation of land allotment or lease.
