Just days after officially announcing their separation, Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar have once again started following each other on Instagram, hinting that the former couple is trying to maintain an amicable equation despite their split.Before the announcement, fans had already begun speculating about trouble in their marriage after noticing that Mouni and Suraj had unfollowed each other on social media. Adding fuel to the rumours, Mouni’s close friend Disha Patani had also unfollowed Suraj around the same time.Reports further claimed that the Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva actor had removed several pictures with Suraj from her Instagram profile.
Couple announced split through joint statement
On May 14, Mouni and Suraj officially confirmed their separation through a joint Instagram statement.“We would like to express that we have chosen to part ways and are taking the necessary time to handle matters privately and amicably,” the statement read.Soon after making the announcement public, the two resumed following each other on Instagram. However, Disha has not followed Suraj back yet.Interestingly, Mouni also continues to keep her wedding photographs from 2022 on her profile.
Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar got married in Goa in 2022
The former couple tied the knot in Panaji, Goa, in January 2022 with two separate wedding ceremonies — one following Bengali traditions and another based on Malayali customs.Mouni had met Suraj on New Year’s Eve in 2019 in Dubai, and the two dated for nearly three years before getting married.
Old interview of Suraj Nambiar resurfaces
Amid ongoing discussions around their separation, an old interview of Suraj has also resurfaced online.In the interview, the Dubai-based businessman had admitted that he was initially hesitant about marriage. While Mouni was reportedly ready to commit much earlier, Suraj delayed the decision until she eventually gave him an ultimatum to either “get married or it’s the highway.”
