Neelam Kothari House: Inside Neelam Kothari and Samir Soni’s ‘huge’ Mumbai home with plush couches and private bar that made Farah Khan say ‘its giving London vibes’ |
Neelam Kothari, born in Hong Kong, entered Indian cinema at age 15 and starred in her debut film, Jawaani, a year later. She has since appeared in films like ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’, ‘Ilzaam’, and ‘Parampara’, among others, and is widely recognised for her role in ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’ alongside Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, and Bhavana Pandey. In a recent episode of Food With Farah, Neelam and husband Sameer Soni welcomed Farah into their home. Amid conversations about films and reality television, the ‘Main Hoon Na’ director gave viewers a peek into the couple’s “huge” residence.
Farah Khan reacts to the “huge” house
The actress and Sameer’s home features an all-white exterior, but the moment one steps in, it radiates warmth through soft yellow lighting and pastel-toned walls. As Farah walked in, she exclaimed, “Neelu, your house is so huge. I want to tell you that this house is huge, and it’s beautiful.” “This is beautiful but thoda chhota hai [It is beautiful, but it is slightly small],” replied the actor.
Inside the living area and sit-out space
The living space follows an open-floor layout, seamlessly merging the drawing and dining areas. Alongside a beige sofa, the drawing room houses a brown accent chair and another sofa placed on the opposite wall. The soft, muted tones paired with wooden furniture create a perfect setting for the pictures Neelam frequently clicks and posts on Instagram. The space then opens up into a sit-out area done up in white and grey seating, accented with grey and pink cushions, with a sleek brown table tying the whole area together. Neelam revealed that this spot happens to be her favourite place for tea.
The entertainment room that gives “London vibes”
Neelam went on to tell Farah that they had transformed one of the bedrooms into a cosy entertainment room. Done up with dark wood panels, a Chesterfield sofa, a comfy blue couch, a centre table, and paintings, the room makes for the ideal spot to binge an entire series or franchise in one sitting. As Neelam walked Farah through the room, the choreographer remarked, “London ka feel aa rha mereko [This is giving London vibes].“
A dedicated bar area and greenery around the house
The house also features a dedicated bar area, fitted with modern chairs and a wooden countertop, lending the space a rustic charm and creating a lively setting for gatherings. Neelam has adorned her home with indoor plants, bringing a touch of green to an otherwise muted colour palette.
Gift exchange and a hearty meal end the visit
The video wrapped up with a gift-exchange session followed by a hearty meal. Neelam credited Farah as her inspiration for starting her channel, to which the director wished her continued success.
