NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Allahabad high court not to proceed with a case against Lok Sabha leader of opposition and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi involving allegations of disproportionate assets.The top court also directed the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) not to submit any probe report to any authority, including the Allahabad high court, in connection with the alleged assets case arising from an investigation ordered by the HC.During the hearing, the CBI said that if the complainant’s allegations were found to be true, the matter would amount to a “gross disproportionate assets case”.The apex court also asked the Allahabad HC to defer its August 20 hearing in the matter until the Supreme Court hears the case next.
