Stock Market Today Live Updates: BSE Sensex tumbles 650 points, Nifty50 slips below 23,300 as oil stays above $100
Indian stock markets are likely to open lower on Thursday after oil prices rose sharply in the previous session amid renewed tensions between the US and Iran. GIFT Nifty futures stood at 23,270 points at 8:02 am, IST, signalling a weak start for the Nifty 50.
Brent crude traded at $102.53 a barrel, down 0.54%, while WTI crude was at $91.87, down 0.32%. Across Asia, markets were mixed, with Japan’s Nikkei gaining 1.73% while the MSCI Asia ex-Japan index fell 0.64%. Investors also monitored US-China trade talks, global bond yields and upcoming US economic data. Spot gold rose 0.35% to $4,301.89 an ounce, while Bitcoin and Ether also edged higher.
