‘Trump is your president’: White house ‘inserts’ itself into Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce wedding celebrations
The White House took a swipe at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding celebrations by spoofing the couple’s viral marriage announcement on social media. In a post shared on its official X account on Friday, the White House recreated the digital billboard that appeared outside New York City’s Madison Square Garden following the couple’s wedding ceremony. While the original display read, “JusT&T Married,” the edited version replaced it with the message, “Trump is your president.”The post was captioned, “IT’S HAPPENED!!!”The social media jab came shortly after the couple celebrated their wedding, with their announcement displayed on digital billboards outside the venue.President Donald Trump also weighed into the online conversation a day earlier by sharing an Eras Tour-inspired graphic featuring himself at the centre. The poster showed Trump raising his fist, surrounded by images of historical figures including George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, alongside iconic moments such as the Apollo 11 Moon landing. The accompanying caption read, “It’s been a long time coming…”; a reference to Swift’s song Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince. The posts add to Trump’s long-running public criticism of the pop star following her endorsement of then-Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election. After Taylor backed Harris, Trump wrote on Truth Social in September 2024, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”Months later, in May 2025, he returned to the platform to mock the singer, writing, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?'”Despite those remarks, Trump struck a more conciliatory tone after Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025.“Well, I wish them a lot of luck,” Trump said when asked about the engagement. “No, I think he’s a great player. I think he’s a great guy. And I think that she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck.”
