Won’t accept lame excuses: SC to EC on 2023 case | India News

SC on Wednesday pulled up EC for saying it was unable to trace the 2023 video recording of counting of votes in Karnataka’s Sringeri assembly seat. “How can ECI say it has lost its record? Your whole purpose is to hold an election, and you need to have a document...Whatever you have, produce it on the next date. Otherwise, we will have to draw an adverse inference. We will not accept these kinds of lame excuses,” SC said. It was hearing a case related to a poll dispute between Cong’s TD Rajegowda and BJP’s DN Jeevaraj.
