Ajay Devgn’s team has responded to reports that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) partly demolished a property owned by the actor in Juhu, Mumbai. The team has said the property is not his home but a separate one that has been given on rent and that the changes asked for by the civic body have been completed.

Ajay Devgn’s team issues a statement

As per a Hindustan Times report, the statement read, “We would like to clarify that the property in question is not Ajay Devgn’s residence but a separate property that has been rented out. We have applied to the BMC for the requisite permissions in respect of one of our properties and are duly complying with all applicable BMC rules, regulations and guidelines. The necessary changes, alterations and modifications, as required by the BMC, have been carried out.”

Details of the property

The report states that the property covers about 7,802 square feet and sits in Kapol Co-operative Housing Society. It is owned by Ajay and his mother, Veena Devgn.

What the BMC notice said

The BMC’s K/West ward sent a notice on September 10, 2026, under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act. It alleged that unauthorised additions and alterations had been made at the property. The owners were told to stop the work at once and show the required permissions within 24 hours. The notice also warned that the construction could be pulled down at the owners’ risk and cost.

Owners’ reply rejected

In a speaking order dated October 6, the designated officer did not accept the owners’ reply. The officer noted that no papers proving the construction was legal or showing permission from the competent authority had been submitted. The civic body therefore treated the work as unauthorised and ordered its immediate removal.
