Along with it, she penned a warm tribute to the late actor Dharmendra.Speaking of tributes to Dharmendra, after the actor’s demise, in December, on his first birthday after the heartbreaking passing, Saira Banu shared a long note. She shared an old interview video on her social media, highlighting the bond between Dharmendra and her late husband Dilip Kumar.
When Saira Banu talked about Dharmendra and Dilip Kumar’s bond
“Dharam ji… if I were to put the man into words, it would never be easy. Some people are too large for language, too gentle for description, and too loved for boundaries, and he was all of that,” Saira Banu wrote on December 8, 2025.Drawing a comparison between the late actor and her husband, she continued, “His humility was unlike…very much like Dilip Sahib…anything I have ever seen.”“In a world filled with stars, he shone differently… quietly with a warmth that touched every soul lucky enough to know him. He was always very close to our family effortlessly bridging the worlds of stardom and simplicity,” she added.Further describing their bond, she continued, “And the way he loved Dilip Sahib… sometimes I could never decide who loved Dilip Sahib more Dharam Ji or I. Their bond was beyond friendship. It was something rare, something pure, something that made you believe that souls truly recognise each other.”“Today, on his birthday, my heart feels both heavy and full. Heavy because I wish he were still here with us… and full because I want to believe with all my heart that he is with Dilip Sahib once again. That somewhere, in a quieter, kinder world, the two of them have reunited… laughing, talking, sharing that indescribable bond only they understood. Happy Birthday, Dharam ji. You may not be here, but your goodness, your warmth, your humility they remain. And so does our love for you,” she concluded.
Saira Banu’s heartwarming post for Hema Malini
Circling back to the recent meeting between Saira Banu and Hema Malini, let’s have a look at what the ‘Aman’ actress shared.“It does not feel so long ago that Hema had come to see me at my home, accompanied by her cousin Prabha… and yet, when I heard that she’s coming again… my heart was happy. When she entered, she looked just as graceful, and in that instant, I was taken back to the very first time I met her in 1966, on the sets of Deewana with Raj Kapoor. Even then, I remember, I was quite simply mesmerised by her beauty. There is no other word that feels as true,” she talked about Hema Malini’s beauty with lots of warmth.Highlighting their time together, she continued, “Our mothers were with us too, and would often join, adding something wiser, something steadier, to our easy, unguarded conversations. And yet, what moves me most is not merely the memory of those moments, but how little, in essence, has changed. Some friendships do not ask to be maintained; they simply endure. With her, there is no effort, no need to explain or revisit. There is only understanding, a familiarity that time, in all its passing, has not diminished.”While writing about Hema Malini, Banu also remember veteran star Dharmendra. She once again shared about the beautiful and strong bond the two stars shared over the years.“And somewhere in those thoughts, I found myself thinking of Dharmendra ji, of his warmth, of the sincerity with which he held his affections. The love and regard he had for Dilip sahib was never something he needed to declare; it was understood in the way he spoke of him, with a respect that came from somewhere very deep,” she wrote before adding, “Some bonds, I feel, are like that. They do not announce themselves. They are simply lived, over years, in ways both seen and unseen. And in moments like these, one realises not everything that is precious belongs to the past.”“Some of it remains with us still.” concluded the actress. Her words spoke of one of the purest bonds in Bollywood, which will stay in hearts for eons to come.
